Well I got one of my new ACDelco turn signal socket in yesterday. Fun fact, whoever originally ordered it and never used it, ordered it 4/1/2004.

Also got the new coil spacers in. I should be able to install them next week.

I also got some new 80w CREE LEDs for my reverse lights. 16 5w CREE LEDs. They are from the same seller I got my front 50w LEDs from.

Here's my old 5w CREE LEDs I was using temporarily. Not bad, just wanted brighter and a wider spread of light.

Here's the night shots, so much brighter than before. You can also see the spread of the light output. (camera doesn't give justice)

Then I changed one of the less-than-a-year-old Dorman turn signal socket out, the ground of the Dorman socket was shot and pushed back so much it wasn't contacting the bulb. It could have easily been fixed but I wanted to go ahead and change the two Dorman sockets back to OE sockets.

I also changed the worn out plastic clips for the turn signal lenses.

Then this is from today. This was after lunch before I went back into work, temperature showed 108°F... Just another day in July in Memphis.

I also got my ProForged tie rod sleeves in today.

Was packaged good and keep things from getting scratched.

Also some, definitely not most, of the reviews I read said theirs were not threaded all the way though... Well, mine were, threaded from both sides all the way to the middle. Not that it would of mattered too much since mine is lifted.

That's it for now. Will probably update when I got the other parts in, but other then that I'll hopefully be installing the spacers and ProForged sleeves next week.

'Til next time!!

I should be getting my other turn signal socket tomorrow so I might do that tomorrow before I gave to got to work... Maybe, our A/C compressor at the house went out today so unless they get here early and get it fixed I won't go out there in 100°F weather and not have A/C when I get done to cool off. Then again, the garage does have a window unit so I might use that, it might wen feel better then in the hose when the A/C is off.

If it's not raining, I might also wash the truck tomorrow.... it's way overdue.

'Til next time!

Alright, well today I was able to switch the passenger side below coil mount to the above coil mount and also install the Passenger side ProForged tie rod sleeve. Will do driver side tomorrow.

The Yukon jacked up.

Everything disassembled, ready for the lower control arm drop and removal, you can also see the 6 lug rotor from the 5 to 6 lug conversion.

The old coil spacer. You can see if actually had a corner chip off. Good thing I decided to change spacer to see if it would correct the front geometry some and smooth the ride out.

Coil out and the new isolator on the spacer.

The process of putting a spacer in a GMT400. Two jacks and patience. Also make sure your jack can go up enough. I was lined up great and it was going smooth.... until the jack maxed out.

So ended up having to scrap that attempt and lower the truck and jack stands. Attempt two, worked okay but the jack slipped so I had to reset everything and did it the third time.

I didn't end up using the sock spacer thing. I actually used a 1/2" grade 8 nut, it's pretty much the same height as the plastic spacer.

Tomorrow I should get the driver side done and I can do a good ride comparison. Just by installing one it actually seemed to smooth out the ride on the passenger side. I went over a decent sized pot hole in our driveway on both sides at about 10mph and the passenger side was smoother and actually manageable than the driver side.

I actually think I was getting 3" of lift with the old spacers because I lost an inch of lift on the passenger side with the new spacer... but if it actually rides smoother, I'll take it because that's the whole point of switching spacers.

'Til next time!!

Is the proforged tie tod just a heavier duty version compared to the stock one?

Edit: Never mind, got my answer in the what did you do thread.

Today I did the other side spacer and just for driving into town and back it actually seems to ride smoother than the old spacers. The rest of the week will either prove this or not.

Before I started I got my hub rings in. They are 78.1mm I.D. (stock GM 6 lug center bore) to 108mm O.D. (the Anthem center bore opening). I like them, makes mounting the rim a little more difficult, but it also is better on centering the rim.

Then started to disassemble the driver side to swap the spacer. This one chipped also.

Got the control arm dropped, new spacer and isolator in, and arm re installed with the control arm bolts in.

This is the nut I used instead of the plastic spacer.

Had to make a trip to the 'Zone to get a set of slide pins since one of the driver side pins was seized.

Everything reassembled and also installed the driver side ProForged tie rod sleeves.

Wheel installed, you can see the hub ring.

Again, like I said. It seems to ride quite a bit smoother in the front. I also took some fender height measurements and the front is roughly 42.5"-43" and the rear is about 41"-41.5". Hopefully I get it washed tomorrow, really needs it.

'Til next time!

Some things I've done some things since my last post. At the beginning of August I bought and installed an alarm with remote start. It's an Omega Excalibur AL-2060-EDPB, with 2 way remote and up to 1 mile range. Building and walls do affect the difference in the range of the remote. One thing I will say, the 95+ GMT400 dash leaves almost no room to install the alarm brain, especially with the relays needed for the starter kill and door locks. I had everything bench prepped and got to the truck to map out a location to fit the brain before I started to solder the wires in and couldn't find one. So I ended up having to adjust the wires and relays and finally got the brain to fit on the left side of the steering column next to the convenience center. The only thing I have left to do is hook up the headlights and reverse light up to come on after unlock.

Here's the alarm.

Here is me with all the paperwork, wiring diagrams, and parts bench prepping the alarm brain.

Here it is prepped, I had to move the relays and route the wires all down the main remote start harness.

Removing the lower dash and metal plate. And also a set of 94 Toyota Supra headlights, they are ruined but the projectors could still be used... maybe.

Here's more prep shots and more parts for the alarm.

All the main alarm power and remote start wires soldered in the ignition harness.

Attaching the tach wire feed to the PCM.

And here's the brain mounted, just fits in place, barely. Then the wires follow the main wire harness that goes up the steering column. Overall I think I did a great job considering it's the first complete alarm system I have installed. It looks so much better then the alarm on my Jeep which was "Professionally" installed by a local shop about 7 years ago. My Jeep alarm looks like a bird's nest and I hate it. You can also see the adjustments I did to the prep work.

Here's the shock sensor on the steering column.

I also washed the rims last week before I was going to get the wheels rebalanced and get an alignment. Well I got the wheels rebalanced but two of my bushings in my discontinued upper control arms are bad. So I have to figure out a way to get some new bushings. I emailed the company Saturday but they haven't got back to me so I'll have to call them to see what's up.

Also I'll be building another set of headlights. I bought a bunch of stuff last night to build another set. It's a different style housing since the highbeams are horrible on the housing I have now that I built a year ago. It's still a projector but the high side is completely open and I plan to mount a LED cube with halo as my highbeams and just a round halo around the halo like I have on my current setup.

Hey when you did your rear flares did you cut them your self?
I bought a set of flares last year . There bush wacker style flares for 88-98 trucks . So up until today I didnt even realize they wouldnt fit my rear because my rear doors.
So Im faced with the task of cutting them and adding vacuum hose as molding trim .
I just want to see if any one else has done it.
BTW your truck looks bitchin . All the work your doing to the suspension I just did I feel your pain.

Thanks! And no, I bought the Bushwhacker flares that fit the 94-00 4 door gmt400 Tahoe/Yukon. They are already precut and designed to fit the rear door. I was going to try and make a set fit but it was easier to get a set already made to fit.
