Try this...get your truck up to about 45 mph. and do a panic stop and see how it reacts, that surging should be magnified.Do it where there's little to no traffic though.

I've done that, and the surge isn't there when I do. I was maybe only going 35, but the surge is only there at low speeds and light to moderate braking.

Another note, the ABS light is on because of an open circuit on the driver's speed sensor. I intend on replacing that, but I wouldn't think that caused the issue either. I unplugged the ABS completely and tested and the surge was still there, so I put it back.

Well you got me then....I would still check the runout on the rotors though.

Just thought of this, there is a break in procedure for new pads and rotors....per ALLDATAdiy: make 20 stops from 30mph with medium to firm pedal pressure and be careful not to over heat the brakes.

I usually do a few stops but certainly not 20 lol

I would have imagine I have done that just driving... But I never did it intently. I will try doing that and see if it helps. Thanks!

If this is a half ton, you may have a slightly bent axle shaft in the rear. Do you know the history of the truck, or is it a relatively new to you vehicle?

Its new to me. Its not new by any means. This is an interesting theory. What do you think could cause that?

Wouldn't it wobble all the time if that was the case?
