Yes, I might need adapters depending on what size the mufflers come, the way I cut the old one off left it perfectly fitting a 3" OD pipe, but I think the mufflers may come 3" ID, but we'll see.

If you find a 3" drivers side tail pipe let me know i have to have mine all custom made but the make 3" pass side tail pipes.

I did a quick ebay search yesterday, and it seems like most of the tailpipe kits that fit these are 2.5", and then there are universal kits, which might not turn out perfect since the pipes aren't centered like normal dual systems, but might seem like the best bet rather than pay someone to make them.

I'd just buy the bends and put whatever tips you like on them.

I checked into this for my 6.5 truck and its the same price as having someone bend it.

This is true and it probably won't be to far off since it seems like alot of universal stuff is based off of gmt 400's.

Money wise i guess it's cheaper to have my exhaust guy do it but since i make my living with my truck it usually cost me $200-300 to not have the truck 8-5 mon-fri so i try to do everything myself. I am mostly self sustained with everything auto except alignments and exhaust and it only cost me $50 for an alignment so i guess its time for a pipe bender.

All mufflers are measured in id. The stock pipes on these trucks are 2.75". So yes 3" od pipe should work as an adapter.

Thanks for the tips. I see you have a 454 with an 0411, did you notice a big difference after doing the swap?

There's a few interesting things that started happening after I got my "box" from lextech.

I definitely got better fuel economy to start. I use "aCar" (Its an app) to track my milage and all other maintenance on my vehicles. After I installed the 0411 my average fuel economy went up 1.5mpg. So even on a base tune that makes the truck "runable" its doing better for my wallet than the black box did.

The fuel cuts out completely after you've let off of the accelerator for about 3 seconds. I suppose this has helped my milage, but nevertheless I was a little worried about what it was when it first started happening. I wouldn't mind the time delay, or whatever it is, being longer as I've found there are plenty of times where it has kicked in at the same time I've started to push the accelerator again.

I feel my acceleration and general driveability has improved. Off-idle the engine definitely runs much smoother. Idle is still choppy but I have yet to be tuned. I also have torque management turned off. Risky... but god does it feel good to lay down some stripes whenever I want to.

You can get Tow/haul mode but since you have a manual that doesn't help you at all. Something else for other people interested though: In 3rd gear, the TC will lock just like it would in 4th gear. Not sure if it did that before the swap... but it definitely happens.

I'm not planning on doing anything radical with the engine in the near future, but was still thinking of getting the stock computer tuned, mainly to delete emission junk at least to get rid of the CEL.

What CEL do you have? For the cats? If you get a 0411 you can get that written in to be turned off. Is your pickup emissions exempt due to the weight class or anything?
