More than likely pretty dumb question but im fixing up my 1995 Cheyenne and there is a hole in my driver side door panel and I can't find anywhere that sells them are they discontinued?is hunting the salvage yards the only solution? Thanks in advance

Try LMC catalog for our series of trucks, they may have the panel. Here is their website: http://www.lmctruck.com/features/cd/CDAA3.htm

Here is a quick link to the door panel page.

I have a 1999 GMC Suburban with rear AC. What is under the interior housing in the rear cargo area? The part that's on the side of the vehicle, covering the rear wheel housing. There's carpeted plastic there that has some storage and cup holders, but it seems like there's some empty space inside there as well. Anything beyond the wheel housing under there?

Thanks.

Rear air blower and evaporator should be behind that panel on the passenger side.

Greetings! A couple of questions related to working in the headliner area...I suppose these could go in a couple of different areas, but thought I'd start here.

I invested in a Gentex 341 rear-view mirror to go in my 1989 C1500 Extended Cab, and also picked up an overhead console from ebay. I'm going to try to carve out time to work with them next weekend and thought I'd get some opinions here before I do.

Any tips for getting power to that mirror? Is routing it up the driver side A pillar and across near the front of the headliner the best way to get there, or might a better approach be to tap into power back at the dome light and bring it forward?

On a similar note, anyone have experience putting an OHC into an '89 extended cab? I browsed the OHC thread and saw some tips that look like they probably apply really well to '92+ trucks because it appears the "ceiling" hardware/skin is common among the trucks and their SUV counterparts. I'm wondering about the '89 though, considering the Suburban and Blazer were still on the previous generation platform in that model year. I'd prefer not to run a self-tapping screw through the top of my ride while trying to install that thing.

Thanks!

I routed all my power in my 89 Silverado for my overhead console and mirror up the A-pillar and tucked it up just inside the headliner. Reason being I did the A-pillar route and not the dome light is I have the temp sensor in the grill area, so might as well run all the wires that way. I have my accessory panel in the storage box I installed.

I self tapped my oc to the ceiling panel before I knew they had the pre-cut holes in the ceiling already for the oc. :nono:

Thanks Adam, I looked through some of your build thread...good stuff.

Of course now you have me thinking "I need me one of them there storage boxes too". Dang. But I don't think I feel like relocating the vapor canister just yet, which seems to be part of the program to put one of those in an '89, so I may be able to resist that a bit longer.

I'd been thinking to tap into the fusebox to power the mirror & oc lights, but your accessory panel has me wondering if that would be a better route. At some point I'll be installing an aftermarket head unit, and I know I'm going to have to go back and reverse engineer whatever was done by installers ~20 years ago when I had a separate EQ and amp installed for a sub box. I also need to connect the '95 power buckets that replaced the original bench seat. They're not hooked up at all at the moment.

You mention tucking the wires just inside the headliner, can you comment on that a bit more? Do you pull part of it back using trim tools and tuck the wires in? Something else?

I had the headliner redone by a professional ~12 years ago, and I've never personally taken it out. I hear it's something of a PITA to do that, but I'm starting to think it might be worth it just to get a better understanding of the overall landscape up there. When I took my door panels off to replace the window sweeps, I also took that opportunity to un-tint and re-tint the windows, which seemed to work pretty well. Working in the headliner area might be the same way.

On my '93, I think there were only a few tabs of hook and loop, along with the visors, that hold the head liner up. If you feel up there you should find that you can likely tuck the wire just above the lip of the headliner and get the wire to the A pillar. Thats how I ran mine anyway, but not sure about an '89.

I was wondering has anybody ever added extra gauges to their dash like a trans temp or air fuel ratio gauge. If so did you get a piller cluster or just mount them to the dash. Thanks!!!

Yeah It was a pita to relocate the vapor canister. You need to make sure you get all the brackets that you might possibly need I cant remember how I did mine to be honest, I'd have to go back in my thread

Like mentioned before there are 2 Velcro strips(maybe 3 in. long strips) holding up the headliner from the edge(along the windshield) and that its also tucked into the plastic of the A-pillar. I just undid the Velcro and pushed the wires up beyond the Velcro strip. They are just loose up there.

My headliner originally was gone(shot). I was about to redo mine when i came across a headliner in a junkyard truck that was pristine yet so I ganked that one. In an ext. cab headliners are a pita to get out. You have to be super careful as to not bend the headliner mold when going out the door unless you have a third door(lucky ****'s) :p

Does anyone know where I can find the trim panels for this type of door panel? '88 Chevy C1500. I've looked at LMC and various others, I can only find a different style.
