Hey, I'm troubleshooting an issue with the AC not blowing cold air. The AC system appears to be working properly under the hood. The lines that are supposed to hot/warm are hot/warm and the lines that are supposed to be cold are cold. The compressor kicks on like it is supposed to and the system is charged properly.
Having said that, the air coming out of the vents is not as cold as it was last summer. This led to me searching this forum and googling/youtubing. What I've come up with is the temperature blend door actuator could be bad, or the door itself.
I popped the panel under the steering wheel off and removed the ashtray to get visual access to the actuator so I could verify its movement. When I switched the system from cold to hot on the control unit the actuator does move but it seems to only move part of the way.
Would anyone mind doing a quick video of theirs so I can compare it to mine. I want to see the full range of movement on the actuator gear.
I believe mine is only moving half way.
Thanks! It's a 98 Silverado
