I added a tru cool 40k trans cooler to my lifted nbs, to the best of my knowledge it's still on the factory trans with 38s and 5.13s, my 97 has 225k on the factory 4l60e. It's been flushed by the book all its life. Has anyone put a large trans cooler in an obs before? I've seen the smaller coolers, but I'd like to add a single large cooler to the trans and a temp gauge..

Are you planning on doing some serious towing with the thing? Regardless of how its been flushed, a stock 4l60E with that many miles is probably not ideal to start towing with. If you're not towing, is there a reason you want such a large cooler?

Recently installed 4" Rcx and 35s, it's hot here, every bit helps... I tow a 18' car hauler, boat, and camper occasionally

I can tell you in a couple months how my stuff works

The one on the left hand side is a trans cooler, the one on the right is a Power Steering Cooler as the truck is Hydroboost and running bigger tires

This is obviously a 4L80, I can't remember if the 60 has a pressure tap port on it or not but that is what I am using to install the temp sensor

Not sure if this helps you or not...

Did you bypass the radiator cooler for the transmission and what brand is external Trans cooler?

Yep. 80e has the same pressure port and same threads.
