Reggie Jackson. Mr. Chevrolet.
When he'd travel, playing ball, he'd rent a car & travel up & down the alleys of the towns he'd be visiting, looking for old muscle cars under tarps or front ends sticking out of garages.
His first rule when assessing a vehicle's value was..."Never judge a vehicle by it's odometer."
There are vehicles out there with 60,000 miles that are in worse shape than ones with 300,000 miles.
Value all depends on how they were maintained.

I don't think the mileage is scary at all, to be clear. I think the mileage combined with the price is unrealistic, and does not constitute, "a good deal".

I've got about $5k into my '97 K2500 suburban. If it's in good shape and doesn't need anything I think a good deal would be somewhere around $1500 from a stranger, $1000 from family, $2500 sounds like "buy here pay here" car lot pricing
