I am doing a carbureted LS swap into my 92 reg cab step side. I want to do a rear mount tank under the bed behind the axle like they have for 68-72 C10 trucks. Anyone ever done this?

Here's the tank I used on my 97 stepper. Late 80's, early 90's f150 rear fuel tank. They come in a few sizes...this one is the smaller version. You just have to change the fuel filler spout location.

Here's an option I found when reseaching the same thing, haven't moved any further with it at this time. Would need to find a way to mount it between frame rails and then extend fuel lines and wiring.
Just in case anybody looking at this old thread is wondering, that tank is large. 31 gallons so it's not the monster 40+ gallon tank a Suburban gets, but size is a consideration especially if your truck is dropped.

It's an OEM tank used in some applications - in my case, my '94 3500HD 6.5td had nearly the same tank (slight difference on filler neck hookup) as the single tank on the truck. I was installing a wrecker unit between the frame rails so I pulled the tank and put a skinny cab & chassis tank in the usual position inside the driver side frame rail.

If you've got the clearance for it (it's just over a foot tall) you could probably score the OEM style straps to hang it and make them work on a non-C&C frame. The C&C frame is narrow in comparison to a regular pickup, straight 34" all the way back, and that tank is about 28" wide.
