The Lugnut kit did not come with new studs, worse, they recommend an M12 stud for it, and Pigpen takes an M14x1.5 lol. They are quick to respond to questions, but don't necessarily have the answers.

So, currently it is on the ground, with 4 studs per wheel. I replaced the Pitman arm and had it aligned, steering slop is gone. I'm going to go ahead and convert the whole thing to 1/2-20 studs front and rear, that way they will match any solid axle I get for the front.

Having 8 lugs is great to be all heavy duty and whatnot, until you have to buy 32 studs, and 32 lugnuts all at once, at 2 bucks a piece lol.

I have pics of the install I'll try to get up this weekend.

Well I got my disc brake conversion on last weekend, I'm not sure if I'll leave it as is or not, I'm thinking I may try to figure out a better clocking and rotation for the brackets. Right now the caliper pin can't come out without pulling the ubolt and the banjo bolt is up against the spring pack. I didn't really do much with it this weekend as the local fair was going on and I took my nieces.

Having to pull my axleshaft to change rotors isn't all that thrilling either.

I need to figure out my lines, make them, and figure out what the stupid little rubber cap on the radiator is called so I can replace it as well, and it should be driveable.

I made a fill plug for my diff, because 35.00 beats 200 or whatever for a Mag-Hytech lol. I'll make a separate thread for it.

Hell, I priced it out and it was going to cost me the same to disc convert my 70, or buy all new drums, as I would like to have ebrake cables (still unsure about doing cutting brakes or not as of right now), in the end I would prefer discs.

Good point about the calipers though, I think there is at least one company that offers brackets with multiple holes to allow clocking the caliper clockwise or counter which ever is preferred.

Good call on putting new studs in

The Lugnut brackets do have a bunch of holes, I think 16 or something, this set seemed like the best compromise at the time. Rotating it one notch back, put's the bolt straight into the spring, and any further puts it in the dirt lol.

This kit wasn't much more than rebuilding the 14b stuff, and it's 120lbs lighter, which is more than I thought lol. Plus replacement parts are cheap, and it will fit on a FF 14b when i go that route later.

If you can find Eldoraro Caliper's they would also fit these brackets. I'm unsure about the newer stuff, which is disc from the factory.

Took Pigpen to the dump today, logged about 25 miles, most I've driven it since I got it.

Brakes worked fine, steering steered, engine engined, but the trans shifting was a mess. Sometimes it would shift appropriately, most times it was in limp mode, sometimes it would arbitrarily flip into and out of limp mode. I'll have to start another thread on that. i beleive the cat is plugged too, my GF said the floor was getting really hot over there.

Next up, headlights, taillights, cleaning up the overspray from the repaint, etc.
