Idle Air Control test

I followed the instructions for testing the IAC Valve.

I found that the valve was open about 1/4 inch cold and seated hot.

Does that sound about right?

I'd say that the IAC's position will change depending on the base idle and how much it needs to open or close to maintain the idle programmed into the PCM. Noticed that with mine. When using the scanner I see "counts" and depending on how I had my base idle set it would change to whatever was needed to maintain the correct idle (within limits of the IAC itself)
