So tomorrow i'm going to pop on the rear wheels I had on my other Turd. They're 15x10s with about a 3 inch backspacing, and 31x10.5s. I think it will match the look of the truck well.

Popped the wide tires and rims on, I think it looks pretty sweet, i'll upload pics tomorrow after I give it a much needed bath at work.

Got the new idler and pitman on today, steering is much tighter. I gave it a quick bath and a vacuum, cleaned up decently. Here's some pics with the wide rear rims!

I decided to install a hitch, just in case I need to use my trailer. Whoever previously owned this truck must have used the ball on the bumper to haul something heavy, because the whole thing is tweaked downwards as you can see, far enough to actually cause interference with the hitch. It doesn't appear that a hitch has ever been installed, but it does have a trailer wire harness, so they must have used that ball. Instead of spending lots of time trying to straighten it out, I just opted for "trimming" a little off the bottom of the bumper just to get it mounted.

Haven't driven it much lately, last trip was Monday to the dump. I've had customer cars from work to drive every night this week, which was nice because free gas and cold a/c. I did haul 2 loads of water with it, 165 gallons each time, and it did very well, even with half a leaf spring missing  I used to haul 250 gallons a couple times a week in my 01, and that thing would squat like crazy, I think this would have done better.

Took a small load of scrap back to the local junkyard, and basically traded all of it for a better functioning tailgate. Also got the motor mount and bracket I needed to fix my other daily driver. I don't know if i'm gonna bother painting it black or not yet.

So, a few weeks ago when I was at the junkyard, there was a truck that had a nice tall oil fill cap, so I took it and put it on this truck. Didn't think anything of it, until I popped my hood last night just to check stuff out, and this is what I found.

It fell out of place and got stuck on the exhaust manifold. I literally had to hit it with a hammer multiple times to get it off. I don't know how it happened, because I can still tighten it down, but I just ended up putting the old cap back on. At least it didn't lose any oil!
