What is the unused little plug called on Vortec radiators? So I can buy another as mine is leaking profusely.

I'm not interested in using a bolt and heater hose and clamps.

This is at the top, ever Vortec 5.7 I've seen has them, like a heater hose goes there on some other application.

"Coolant bypass cap" or "bypass cap", thats what seems to show up when searching for them online.

Thank you sir! That should make it easy to run down lol. I like to just go into part's stores and yell part numbers at them, rather than let them do their whole year/make/model/2wd or 4wd spiel.

If you are talking about that black cap with the gear clamp holding it down I wonder if that's based on heater hose design?

Some small blocks run heater hose from intake to heater core and then hose back to water pump, where some go from heater core and back to radiator. I think....

Correct, it's obviously a heater core hookup, but for whatever reason it's not used in the pickup application. I figure they must use the same radiator on something else that does utilize it.
