I have a 1997 SRW K3500. i also have a complete rolling chassis of a 1974 k2500 8 lug. Is it more cost/value effective to do the SAS or just lift and leave well enough alone? Not a hard off road rig more of a daily driver/tow vehicle. I'm the f.n.g so if there is already a thread going for this please forgive my intrusion. I just wanted some current responses. If no on the SAS what lift is recommended that will give 6" or more without cranking TB's

I've seen it three different ways before.

Sas your '97

6" lift it, any kit is good really, though you are still dealing with the IFS garbage

And lastly is taking the body of the '97 and putting it on the frame of the '74. I've seen that in person. Again, it's doable and may be just as quick or quicker than doing a solid front axle on the '97

I say either body swap or Solid axle. How bad is the '74?

Course there are.... options
You can adapt a 208 with an advance adapter plate
You can find an np241c outta a 91 Tahoe/blazer/suburban

You can even, hear me out on this,
Switch the diff side by cutting the long tube to the length of the short tube... sleeving the ( old) short side with some DOM with the OD to slip into it then slip the cut end into the sleeve and burn it in
Then knock the knuckles off and flip em

If you don't offroad it, I think its more cost effective to just buy the rcd lift kit.
