Im sure this has been asked before, but here it goes. My wifes Tahoe after sitting for a day or two will not start. Voltage drops to 11.9-12.1? Ive checked all the normal stuff cables, interior lights, visor light, radio. Nothing. Strange thing one of the HID quit working on the low side also. Only thing that seems to help is pulling Battery fuse under hood. New cables and battery were installed and solved issue for a couple days then sos.

I guess I would try testing pulling fuses in the dash one at a time and testing for current draw/changes.

To properly test Key Off Draw, you just need a multimeter. Unhook you negative battery terminal, and hook the multimeter inline with some small vise grips. You will need it set to Amps. Once you hook it up, let it sit for about a minute and see what the amperage is reading. It shouldn't be any higher than around .05 amps. Anything higher means something is staying on or running. While this is happening, best thing to do is to turn off your dome light from coming on with the door so it doesn't show the extra draw, and as said earlier, start pulling fuses one by one to see if it makes the amperage drop to proper levels.

I had the same problem in my 92. It turned out to be the underhood light was not shutting off when the hood was closed.
