Finally changed brake pads and rotors on my truck today and as i am looking through service records it appears they have never been changed. I bought the truck with 85K and it now has 150K. The problem I noticed was the break pads on the passenger side were much more worn than the driver side. What could be causing this.

Note:
  • I do have stainless brake lines so i don't think restricted flow is the cause
  • No apparent leaks on the calipers, they seem to retract and expand just fine.
  • Both Rotors had even wear patterns.
  • It did appear that the pins holding the calipers were gummed up on both sides, I cleaned them up and re-lubricated with a silicone paste that came with the new pads.
I am thinking that maybe the pins that allow the caliper to slide back and forth did not have enough silicone. I was going to buy a bottle of silicone and make sure it has enough lube. Is this the correct thinking? Or do I possible have a bad caliper, proportioning valve, etc. Photos of the pads below. Photo bellow shows the inside pads together and the outside pads for a comparison. Thanks!

The caliper sliders are sticky, the wear is not even on each pad set from inside to outside.

The set in the left picture looks like they were doing more work than the others.

Could be a number of things causing this: a bit of trapped air in the system on one side, or perhaps someone has put one caliper on that has a different bore size, like a 8600 gvw caliper on a 1500.

Thanks! I will add more silicone to the sliders or just get new pins. The pins don't seem to have any flat spots.
From the photos above I should have taken different photos. The photo on the left compares both pads that were on the caliper piston side. Photo on the right shows both pads that were on the outside of the caliper setup. I was trying to show depth, so the pads on the left side of each photo is the passenger side and pads on the right side of each photo are the drivers side.

Looks like one caliper is not grabbing at all and one is doing all the work. I would probably try a new set of calipers

If a caliper was stuck would I feel the truck pull to one side when braking? In this case pull to the right since the passenger side pads were more worn. This truck has mostly been doing city driving so on a normal day speeds really don't get over 45mph. But even at that speed and the occasional heavy braking maybe one would notice the truck pulling to one side or the other??
