I must say I was a bit skeptical at first about how quickly this would get done and if it would get done but now I'm really liking what I see. I'm curious to see where you spool that snail. I have a Whipple that'll be going on this year but I'll struggle to make 6# of boost. I could conservatively run 10# all day long with a turbo, but my concern would be how soon it achieved said 10# as its main purpose would be to help me drag my trailer locked up in OD. Well, that and blowing peoples' doors off. :D

This build started well before I posted. Collection of parts and what not . This build has been going on for two years.
I should start spooling from what Ive read from others around 2200. This where most stock vortec 350 start spooling this specific turbo. Believe it or not this is a smaller turbo for my engine . Im happy with that. As I can save some gas before being in full boost but still not have tons of lag.
I figure since ive lower compression down to 8:5.1 and forged internals. I should be able to safely be able to make 25-30 psi. I may occasionally crank it up that high but ill probably stay at 10. I think the gt45 maxes out at 35 any ways. I hoping to have it done by the end aug. I have no disillusion that I know Ill be working the kinks out for the next year or so.
I personally cant wait for dyno day.
Yes It will be nice to have the whole package looks and power , enough to blow by punk ricers. Or over.
Clutch went out in my car so I have to do a clutch on my escort. Not fun. 2nd motor Ive pulled this month.

So I finished tig welding the holes on my bumper that stake the rubber trim strip . Ive never done this before so I was pleasantly surprised. I ground down one with a cut off wheel quick , I havent even gone over it with flap disk or my 4 1/2 in scotch bright pad for the grinder. I think its going to come out good.
I have to make one more order to summit for LQ9 LS truck wire , mine are to short . Then I can fire her up .
I plan on mounting my winch inside my color matched the bumper for now. Cut few square for fog lights like the diesel bumpers maybe add few tubes.

So I grinded down my welds on my bumper sanded with 120 then 240 filled in with tig rod what had to be filled in . Sanded it all down with a 80 grit flap disk then jumped up to 240 grit paper. I have few pin holes left . Literally 4 or 5 pin size holes. I will use filler or what ever but im happy. Cheaper than 380$ bumper replacemnt.
Ill cut holes for fog lights and the winch soon.

What color is it going to be?
Metallic Red. The exact color reads Fireball metallic red with mother pearl wet look.Link bottom. Its a one stage paint. Meant to look like a cherry red with flake. Paint primer reducer wetlook the whole shabang was only 200$.
Ive had good results with this paint before . Downside is it wont last even half as long as Base coat clear coat and you need to be diligent on prep. I honestly dont care though. Ill probably change my mind 100 times between then and now.
My interiors maroon. I wanted to do Kawasaki green . Picture this truck , lime on the out side and open the door .. old GM red...

...............
Made some patch panels using my 32" 3n1 sheet metal brake, today before primer . I purchased a new stretcher shrinker from harbor freight also . Cool tool .
I grabbed the Enco 3n1 from ebay last year used for pennys local pick up . Couldn't pass up on it. Have not used it until today . Took me half a day to get it adjusted.
I want this truck to be finished so bad. At least it cooled down today. Hope to be running on the road by the end of next month.

Sorry for not posting in a while. Life interrupted me . First the transmission went out on my beater car. Bought a used one from a local junk yard. The I ended up coming across a deal on a 2005 liberty with blown engine so I bought it for the misses. I ended up put a very low mile engine in the liberty from one that was in accident . Its not a wrangle but nice little v6 able to tow 5k .
I finished paint for what it is going to be used for im happy. Im still cleaning over spray off. few weeks ago the last few things came in to finish the motor . SO now I need to button everything up , load a tune in the ecm and start it.

Good score on the KJ. I'm pretty partial to Jeeps, I have a fairly modified XJ myself (lift, bumpers, rear disc brake swap, etc.) and it also tows great. But between 02-11 the Jeeps with the 3.7/3.8 v6 motors don't seem to perform as well as the old tried and true 4.0 I6 that mine has, they also seems to wear out and have oil burning issues somewhat early on. The new 3.6 Pentastar for the 12+ seem promising compared to the 3.7/3.8.

Though if you're not hard on it (like wheeling it every weekend/pushing high RPM like most Wrangler guys) it should last and do anything you need, and as for towing, it might have roughly the same rating as my XJ but the unibody is stronger on the KJs vs the XJs. Though I will say I know I've towed 5k if not more with my XJ back before I got the Yukon and it did fine.

Paint on the Tahoe looks good, can't wait to see it running and moving.
