Yes, wrong side I only had one spindle at the time
These two spindles look very similar but are very different, the ball joint holes are larger on the aluminum one and it is taller

The aluminum one could be used, however I'm married to the cast iron due to modifications already made. Also it is twice the weight of the aluminum one

Thanks. That says to me that I use the matching lower joint , fiddle with the lower arm and I'm good.

As I said earlier I'm trying to move weight around on this truck a bit.

If I am looking at this correctly it looks like the aluminum one has the axle mount higher up which means the truck sits lower or is it an illusion ?

If you look in the picture with them standing up, the lower ball joint flange is thicker on the aluminum one , one thing to remember these are off 2 different platforms. With the overall height being taller, I would have to believe that any lowering effect would be negligible if any. Now the weight savings on the other hand would be huge.

And it's the weight reduction I'm after.

Both of mine are the aluminum ones. Got them as take offs with 10 miles on them. Ordered the matching ball joint as well.

Only variance for me is the hubs. 99-06 I'm told will plug into the std ABS harness on the truck. ( not that it matters that much)

Only thing I cannot get information on is what changed other than the plug on them for the 14/15 years.

That said:

Once I get all that in place then it's onto this:

Got the hubs and a wheel mounted. I had to use a 1.5 inch spacer to get adequate clearance and move the wheel out

What upper control arm are you using? Is that from an HD truck? I was told a long time ago you can use them, turn them upside down, and swap driver and passenger and the geometry would be better for a lowered truck
