Ok, in that case, did you at least get the code 12 flashed? That code should tell you that the system is normal. There's a possibility that there is a bad sensor, but not bad enough to the point of throwing a code. For example, a bad coolant temp sensor could read 0 degrees on a 75 degree day, which would make it run rich. The computer would only throw a code if it was unplugged or shorted, showing either -140 or 240, or something like that. Same goes for the throttle position sensor, if its thinking its open farther than it really is, could also affect it. You could either try and swapping with a known good sensor since they aren't that expensive, or if you know how, check the resistance of the sensors, and i'm sure the specs are on the interwebs somewhere

I did flash the 12 code my thought is a tps or coolant sensor at this point. I'm going to swing by parts store tomorrow and pick up a tps.

There's also the MAP sensor, that can cause issues as well. Last time I purchased those sensors, it was just about 10 years ago at this point, and those sensors were between 20-40 bucks each so not terrible. At the time I had less knowledge on testing them, and just figured i'd throw them in to see if they made a difference. Like I said though, if you want to check, you could look up the spec on the coolant temp sensor, all you need to do is take a multimeter and touch both terminals in the sensor. depending on the outside temp, there should be a spec for that specific temp range.

There's a lot of good info on troubleshooting each of the various sensors that could be causing the problem. If you don't already have a decent multimeter, I would highly recommend getting one. I recently picked up a used Fluke 83V at a pawn shop for $60. Great deal, just have to keep your eyes peeled. If you have one already, here's a couple of links for troubleshooting sensors that are similar or identical to what's on your '95.

Every other sensor you have is also featured, so a quick search should be all you need. Save yourself some money and headache and do a little troubleshooting before firing the parts cannon.

My question is: What mileage did you expect from this truck? What has it done in the past? Honestly, 13 does not seem that bad for a 3/4 ton 4X4. My own 1/2 Ton 2WD 5.7 Vortec gets about 15 Canadian in town (winter), and I'd guess around 20 max on the highway. (3.73 gears 4L60E)

The C-1500 is a lot lighter than your truck.

Anyway, I hope you can improve the mileage on the truck, and I second the thought that you would probably be best off running 87, which works fine in my truck.

15 Canadian? Does that mean 15 kpg or 15mpg but in Canada?
