Nothing productive today, other than the carrier bearings showed up in the mail, so I can take the Truetrac to work and swap the the ring and press the bearings on. I hope to have it all back together and under the frame by Memorial Day! Today was 87 degrees here, first real warm day, didn't feel like doing a damn thing at work or at home!

Miserable day at work installing exhaust manifolds on an F150, but still had time to press the new bearings on the truetrac and swap the ring over from the gov-loc. When I got home I popped it in the rear end, installed new axle seals, and popped the axles in.

Still planning on getting some stuff done tomorrow, but its supposed to be 90 degrees out and stormy, so super humid. literally 12 days ago it was a high of 37 degrees with little snow flurries. Can't we just have some nice upper 60-lower 70 degree days without going straight from winter to summer? :suicide:

Much success happened today, despite the heat! rear end is all together with new brakes, minus cables, finished the last C notch, and popped the rear end in and threw the wheels on! Its half a rolling chassis at least, hoping to be fully rolling in a couple days!

Got a few front steering/suspension parts more secured, the lower control arms were quite the PITA to get in place. Popped the DJM drop spindles on, and popped the center link with tie rods on loosely, since I will have to remove a little of it to install the springs once I get a compressor tool. Also realized I must have had a derp moment at work, as I installed my pitman on 180 degrees off :banghead: I must have not paid attention and didn't realize that it could go on more than one way. At least thats a quick fix. Ill probably just pop the gearbox back off and swap it at work real quick since I don't have shop air, and my pitman tool is there anyways.

Wow, talk about deja vu. I did near the exact same thing in my old man's lane way not ten years ago, and then 3 years ago I sold the truck.

Correction, I traded it for a crap Jeep Grand. Just made my self sad...

Lookin good so far man!

I put belltech dropped spindles and Groundforce dropped springs in mine, old springs out and new springs in without a compressor. Actually, new drop springs in were super easy to feed in and bolt everything up.

Though it will probably make me think of my truck I will follow this build I believe.

I'm not wanting to go super low in the front, originally I was planning on about a 4/6, but I think I'm gonna start with a 3/5 and see how everything fits. I went with 2" drop spindles, and I cut a half loop out of the stock springs and am going to see how it sits once the big block is in, i'm thinking it will be close to 3". I don't want to cut too much off since I got 275 60 15s for the front because I don't like the look of the tiny wheels and just want to make sure nothing rubs. The stock springs need to be compressed quite a bit from the looks of it, a few inches at least to be able to hook the ball joints up to the spindle.
