I had a go at the centre console thing too. I ended up using a chisel and hammer to punch two slots into the inside roof panel and sliding the clips into that. A tech screw fixed the front. Its wired to constant power so it can be turned on any time but better not forget to turn them off or the battery will go flat.

Hi all,
Had been a little while since my last post. I haven't been doing too much on the GMC, but after buying a truck tray the other week, I decided to affix it to the rails. Here she sits now ready for a backboard, paint, timber boards and lights.

I'm starting to get an engine light stay on when I start the car and an awful grinding noise when it first starts, which goes away immediately...maybe its the starter I don't know. Light stayed on until I gave it a good rev.

Hi Chris,
Strange but the light is now okay. its the dash light that is the shape of the engine, but it since turns off shortly after starting. I've been busy with the help of a welder to get the tray almost ready for grinding and painting. Here the photo of it so far...

Here are the photos of the headlights. They're not the greatest photos but its hard to get the right light. Also a tow body I bought but too much work to fit so selling it on.

Are those glass? And do they have replaceable bulbs?
I've tried sooo many different bulbs (At least a dozen sets!) in the factory housings & have yet to be impressed with any of them. Concluded that it's the shape of the headlight lenses & housings themselves that are the prob.
Like speakers, lights should be round! Thinking that maybe with a bit of modding, a set of those could be made to look almost 'normal', with some clear acrylic mounted in the grill opening to mimic the factory look.
Another 'Q'. Do the factory GM Aussie tail lights have yellow turn signals?
