85k... nice!

Yup, out sight outta mind guess. My garage is bit an@l, I mean geez... when you ground the low press connector the brake light comes on dim, which tells me thats workin. I've looked up schematics and can't find the missing link to this issue.

Others... plz chime in!

Does it light up when you step on the parking/emergency brake? If so then I would look at the low pressure switch as the possible fault.

Goes bright when park/emer brake is applied. Since the combo valve is in working order, I pulled the connector and grounded it and the dash light comes on dim.

This schematic shows... brake dash light-low press switch-abs module inline. Either the module is sending out the "2sec" signal or something else????

I am planning on doing the RWAL delete on my '91 this week. I have never felt such weak and vague braking before in my life. Time for some upgrades!

I will have to try mine the next time I start it. I most always have the park brake on when parked since mine is a 5 speed manual trans.

You won't regret doing this mod.

Do me a favor... go start your truck with parking brake off and tell me if the dash brake light comes on and then off like the battery, ck gauges, oil & service engine.
Thanks!

Did you need any extra parts for the delete or did it just screw in the port?

Well you could always wire up a relay that turns the light on when the ignition is in the on position and have a timed flasher or relay or something that cuts power after three seconds...... I mean that is logically the only thing I can think of aside from mounting it and plugging it back in for inspection.

Yes the light stays on for about 3 seconds when the key is turned on then a relay under the hood clicks and the light goes out.

ok so i did the mod and as all the posts have said, huge huge difference in the pedal and performance. however, the 1st trip out everything was fine, the 2nd trip my brake light came on and has stayed on since. i went over all the fluids, lines, hose connections and wheel cylinders. everything is fine. nothing is low. when i apply the e brake it does get a little brighter (even though my e-brake has not worked in years), but it is persistent. ive read all 10 pages and dont really see anything else going on. any help from you guys is appreciated.
