I think they were referring to moisture/salt being trapped behind the wrap, oxidizing the AL u minium.
They never did anything on the truck I had. I bought it used and when I pulled the 5th wheel off, the aluminum was badly corroded. Don't remember exactly but I had to use a neutraliser to fill gap/ stop corrosion.
