I took my truck in to have all 4 tires swapped, but I noticed the old back ones had odd wear on the inside of the tires. It was like every other nub was worn vs the one beside it? So it felt bumpy when i ran my hand over it, because some of them were noticeably taller than the others. What would cause this, and would a front end/thrust angle alignment fix it? I'm afraid it's something more serious like my axle is bent somehow and I'll have to replace..

It's called "Cupping" and bad axle bearings or a bent housing would cause it in the rear. I've heard shocks can cause it too.

Do you have any reason to believe the rear may be bent? Have you been jumping it? lol

Very common wear due to bad shocks. You can google some example pics of tire wear and you'll see.

"cupping" is definitely what happened. The shocks are fairly stout still and it's a solid axle, I could see shocks causing it on the front, but the back seems odd to me in this scenario. I only suspect the housing because I don't know what all might cause this, and there is no telling what was done to the truck before I bought it. Those tires were freshly put on when I bought it, I suspected an alignment problem because of that, but didn't suspect the rear to be the ones causing it.

Most common issue for getting tire chop (what we call it at work) is definitely shocks, and can also be affected by out of balance wheels.
