Measured up the old block and came up with 0.0005 - 0.001 too much clearance with my hypers.

This began to take apart my engine and see what I came up with. Engine was going slowly low on coolant, and oil kept disappearing from lots of leaks and probably burned a bit.

When I opened up the engine I noticed the guy before me ( owned since '02 ) had done the intake gaskets already with fel pro gasket kit. Unfortunately it does not have the updated spider injection. So I will be doing that before it goes in. Also s still had cross hatch left. Will get a bore & hone before anyway. Checked these measurements and much more happy about it.

What area are you from ? I'm 20 minutes east from the border. Have to meet up sometime when I get the old truck back on the road ! I think in 2 weeks it will be back together in one piece hopefully if everything goes together good.

Well here is as much of an update as it gets. I ordered a GM vortec 350 timing cover and it came in for $40,

I have yet to order the GMPP cam used in the HT383 as I'm going roller, oil Cooler lines ( not dorman junk lines ), PS return line from Cooler, engine degreaser for engine bay, black rattle cans, idler pulley, serp belt, intake gasket set for vortec.
