Salvage yard leaf springs for my SAS

I found some 52" rear leaf springs on a square body Chevy truck at a local salvage yard. The truck was 73-81. It didn't have a bed on it or wheels so it was hard to tell if it was lifted much. It did have 1" blocks under these springs that were crumbling. The springs aren't old enough to be original. And I'm pretty sure the trucks didn't come with a helper spring with this much arch in them. They are 7 leaf including the helper. Do these look like aftermarket lift springs? I don't have much experience with them and I don't know how to identify them. The company I'm buying the cross over steering from wants to know how much lift I'm going to have before they can tell me which drop pitman arm I need. I'm also not sure how these springs will ride or how much articulation I'll have. I think I could remove the helper and one leaf pretty easy but not sure if that's advisable or not. Any thoughts?

I don't know a whole lot about springs on a SFA truck... but I can tell you those are going to be stiff as hell. I don't imagine they will articulate well, unless you have a ton of tire on them. I've seen less beefy springs on lifted PSDs.

Yeah I figured they were going to be overkill but I picked them up for $50 for the pair. If they are lift springs I wonder if removing the helper and the first leaf will flatten them out some and help them articulate better? Or maybe just the helper. My tires are 35x14.5 boggers. So I do need the lift but the sky manufacturing kit says the brackets themselves provide 6" of lift which is what I have now with the rough country kit.

Stock 52's will give you 4" of lift by themselves.you'll have at least 10", but probably around the 12" mark with those springs and the sky brackets. With that amount of lift, your tires are going to look tiny.

Wow. I didn't know that. My first axle swap. If I pull the helper spring and one more leaf it should kill some of that right?

id pull a few leafs out of it but youll have a bunch of lift with those. 52s are an automatic 4" plus 3" for most brackets your already at solid axle in general adds a few inches over anything stock. considering those look lift ill agree and say youll be around 12" of lift.

Jiminy Christmas. The Sky manufacturing brackets I'm running are 6" themselves for sure. I didn't know the 52" springs provided lift. I thought they just rode better.

Yes you are. I'm at 11" with mine and I clear 40's no problem unless I flex it out. I'm running 8" sky jacker soft rides in mine that are 47" in length with the offroad direct brackets which are 3" themselves. They ride better than the ifs did.
