LOL @ SAS being dumb hillbilly lifts.

I'm swapping the front axle out of my Ram to IFS just to prove a point by golly.

lol good, idc what people say about it. all I'm asking for was what wears out fastest on ifs set ups

Deez.

IFS is typically unreliable as a daily driver after 35" or taller tire and gets compounded worse and worse based on wheel, tire, and offset combo

$200 drivers drop axle
$200-500 for brakes, rebuilds blah blah blah
$500 brackets
$100-200 for leafs
$150-250 shocks
(based off mostly used junkyard stuff)

drive-shaft, cross-over steering

2-3 grand total at the absolute cheapest and very minimal of everything

Drive it

EDIT - and as far as what wears out fastest on ifs -> upper balljoints, idler arm, unit bearings

I'm doing an SAS right now. I'll be under $3000 total when I'm finished. And that's because I spent $1700 on gears, rebuild and an Auburn locker.

I did a lift kit and regear on my IFS last year. Had the axle completely gone through. 4.56 gears. It only took me a few months to grenade the aluminum housing of the IFS axle with 35" tires. So, no way would I spend one dollar on IFS or lift kit again. I'll be sitting higher on leaf springs, with a stronger axle, with a locker, with the ability to run a much bigger tire for about the same money as I spent on the lift kit/IFS. But hey, it's your truck.

I can tell you this, the lift kit for the IFS was harder to install than this solid axle.

That's weird. Tapatalk put this thread at the top of my news feed like it was a brand new thread. I wasn't searching anything either.
