Has anyone taken their backseat out of an ext. cab and made a custom sub box? If not a custom box, what did you use to accommodate space? HELP, I need ideas!

^^ This. ^^

Unless you are into the 'look' of a big box that occupies useable passenger space, as well as attracts thieves, an underseat sub box with a 10- 12" driver will do quite fine. If you also want to be able to fold up the backseat against the cab wall, don't mount the amps on the back cab wall, unless you also build brackets to move the back seat ahead. ( a few pieces of flatbar with holes drilled and two bolts welded into it for each side )

There is room for mounting amps, but interferes when the seat is folded up and drops down. If you had a strap holding the seat back and base up, that might work without moving the backseat forward an inch.

I ran a custom console that houses two 10's...I use the space behind the seats to store a duffle bag when I go out of town...
