Im getting ready to throw a lift on my 96 k1500. I'm wanting to know the pros and cons of the 6 inch lift made by Rough Country and Zone. Thanks

And I've been shopping for a lift too, and because my truck will only be doing light offroading and DD'ing, I've heard Rough Country is a better suited kit.

Someone with a better knowledge can step in and provide more assistance though...

To my knowledge the RCX is the best bang for the buck, as long as you don't use their shocks and get some bilsteins it should be a nice ride.

1200mi on my RCX 6" now and don't have any complaints. I'm using the 2.0 shocks that came with the kit. I figured I'll run them since I paid for them, I'll go with Bilstein when they go out. The RCX lift is built well and everything is exactly the way it should be, no surprises during installation. The instructions could really use some work though.

EDIT: The front end also aligned very well.

RCX is fine; good price, good lift. But best bang for buck only holds true if you are okay with junk shocks. If you opt for Superlift, with the Superride SS Bilstein shocks, its only about $100 over the cost of the RCX. Superlift is beefier than RCX, and those shocks are almost $400 on their own. You actually come out ahead by about $200-$300 dollars by paying the initial investment of 100 more when purchasing a Superlift.

If you are on a super tight budget, by all means go with the RCX; it's a great kit. But if you can float the extra hundy, i'd recommend the Superlift.

All IMO, of course.

I figure when the time comes for my own truck to be lifted I'll get the RCX but maybe as time gets closer I'll evaluate the super lift more!

I didn't think Superlift was still making kits for our trucks.

They are; they had an older design, which was discontinued. Now its a new, better designed kit. @SwampHound is running the same kit I am. The diff drop is 5.25" I believe, so its not a true 6" (just like RCX). The website price is a lot higher than you can actually get it for, if you call them.
