Thanks all for the welcome.

ZachT, the plans for the Hilux are just to get it back on the road. Its a turbo diesel also, but only 2.8L

I sold my other Hilux recently, but managed to take all the good kit off it to put on the one you see in the photo. They are pretty unstoppable off road as they weight under 2 ton. I won't go crazy with it as it's only for getting around town now and then.

They are ridiculously simple to work on, a short USB cable has more wires than this things whole wiring loom.

Yukon spares, there is also a guy in inner west Brisbane that does these. The door pins are notoriously bad for drop. I replaced mine when I built it.

I have contacts in the USA as well.
Contact details in sig if you wish to chat. There is another fellow on southern brisbane that has 4-5 containers FULL of GMT 400 gear. I got a set of export tail lights off him a while back. He has panels and the correct lights as well.

Thanks Chris. I'll see how I go with it. I bought a heap off ebay, and also a few things from AmericanUsed in Melbourne. The rear window was through them as the ambo one was a welded on piece of tin.

Welcome. I like those seats. My Suburban has the bucket seats, but I'm more and more tempted toward that setup. What kind of headlights are those? I don't recall seeing those before.

Hi Dr Zoom,
I think they are Ford Falcon XR6/8 headlights from around that era. Not sure why they changed out the originals, but every ex-ambulance I've seen here has a similar set up. For now I'll keep them I don't mind the look. I'm loving the bench seat, its like a couch compared to any other car I've owned.

I kinda like them. They're sort of like the halo lights people are putting on now, but more primitive. Would you mind putting up some pictures of how they're in there? I looked at some Falcon lights on ebay and they don't look too far off from how our headlights mount up.

That's quite a pile of wires you've taken out.

Here are the photos of the headlights. They're not the greatest photos but its hard to get the right light. Also a tow body I bought but too much work to fit so selling it on.

On the topic of headlights, I also bought some new smoked lenses but original lights. I'll probably install them later once the car is on the road and working well. Just a few small electrical issues to go, a steel tray to build and then anything it needs for registration...hopefully not a lot!
