I had to order some new plastic clips for my door panels today. These things just don't seem to last. I ordered the correct clips from autozone. I guess I could have ordered them from amazon, but I didn't. The last clips I used were the correct part number for my 97, but they didn't last long. Less than a year. I haven't removed the door panels since I put the clips on. They just seem to brake. Has anybody else had this problem ?The clips I ordered are Dorman.

I'm too impatient to wait for the mail so if Advanced (which is the least "advanced" imo) doesn't have replicas for my '93 I get some that look similar and chip or cut edges into the tops. I've found that if I do it right and twist them into the holes in the panel they hold much better because its still a lot more surface in the hole, even after trimming. Make sense?

I replaced mine once with some I got from Autozone. They broke in like a week. I just ran a few self tapping sheet metal screws along the bottom and they hold up just fine.

I've had great luck with the ones I got off Amazon. Probably Dorman.

The fixes mentioned in the thread remind me of the old saying There are three ways to do a job: the right way, the wrong way, and the quick way.
You forgot 'the better way':33:
