My RCLB has 186k on it and I am assuming has been running dino oil the whole time so I am sticking to dino oil...high mileage dino oil...on this beast for now. I have run Mobil 1 in other rigs I have owned and liked it. Amsoil has a good following but as said above is only available in select places but that shouldn't be an issue if you like to plan ahead.

If you're really curious, find a local lab willing to do an oil test. I doubt there'll be a significant difference, but a test is only $40.

mostly the additives zinc amounts etc. where as our truck being tbi should run a high zinc oil for proper wear additives and roller doesnt require it. but otherwise most of the refining processes are similar, pennzoil i know is entirely different and they have some odd thousand patents on that otherwise oil for the most part is oil, name brand at least. bobistheoilguy.com would be your best place to start reading more than you ever want to on oil.

I get Brad Penn for a good deal and run 10w30. Used to use royal purple but the price was too high. Almost went to CENPECO but Brad Penn was cheaper.

I run 10w30 up here in the mountains; I notice a subtle difference in the way it sounds when its cold out. Not sure what all its doing, but I feel good about it lol.
