Looking good. I wonder if there's a sealer/primer to help keep it from absorbing. Usually, just the first wet coat will soak into whatever you're painting if it's porous, then once it's dry it's a barrier to any more absorption. What paint did you use?

I'm liking how the passenger side now has a black section kinda repeating how the driver's side has the gauges.

I used soap and warm water, and then a de-greaser. and then a Trisodium Phosphate just for preperation. I gave the glove box a day to dry. the next day iI sprayed it with Dupli Color Vinyl Adhesion about 3 coats (pretty generous too) and then just started spraying Dupli Color Black Vinyl until I quit seeing light spots.... I thought they were all gone but when i put it back in and the sun hit it, I saw them again. I couldn't believe it because there is easily 10 coats of black. I have gone through almost a can and a half of black for those 2 pieces alone.

More Maintenance that Id like to Document, did a full radiator flush... swapped out upper and lower radiator hoses, put a new thermostat in as well. wiring is very brittle, pretty much any wire I touch, the insulation wants to split. been makeing repairs as I come across them. Using Autozone's universal coolant for the cooling system.

Looking good, love those old dually's

at first It was right place right time kinda thing, but now that my white truck Is most likely gonna get totaled, Im really starting to get into getting some stuff done to her.

almost finished the radiator flush, its 3am and I kinda like 1 of my neighbors, so im gonna hold off on topping her off. and im short a bottle of anti freeze. I'll finish it later today
so I can head on down to the muffler shop and get these welded on.

I bought a cherry bomb for my 97' and I liked it over the flow master, I gotta a flow master on this truck and im chopping it off as well, I like the straight through design and its got a nice throaty tone to it too.

Im kicking around the idea of having the exhaust exit before the rear wheels, figure it out when I get there.

never got to the exhaust shop, the tires on the dually are so old that they are quickly deteriorating. belts starting to show on the passenger side tire, and it has a slow leak..... soooo!

I started taking the exhaust manifolds off..

the passenger side had a little story to it that I was unaware of until I started loosening bolts..

somebody already already snapped off 2 of the bolts.

I snapped one off effortlessly, felt like I finished whatever previous Bolt Assasin was under the hood before me.

Luckily all 3 of the bolt shafts were sticking out passed the head. so i took a torch and a guy online told me about an old trick of using candle wax. kinda like sweating pipe, so I applied heat to the head and when it gets hot, press the candle against whats left of the bolt and the candle wax will suck into the threads...... worked great on 2 of them, 1 Is just super brittle, it snapped right off.

so only thing I know left to do is drill a hole and use an EZ out.

I gave it as much tension I felt that little EZ out could handle, it wouldnt budge..... so unfortunately had to call it a night, gotta find a better set tomorrow.
