I was actually just looking at pull straps on fleabay.... As soon as i get a chance to pull the door panel i guess i can see what i have to work with. A screw or 2 in the armrest, and a pull strap to actually close the door... Would be perfect.

Absolutely agree, a truck is truck no matter how pretty or tricked out they are. But anyways the farthest one to the door on the left is for extra support, the two in the middle are where it appears that the armrest was molded to the panel from the factory, and the screw in the handle is a longer, stronger screw for more support. The washers are so that the bigger screw doesn't rip any of the plastic in there. The outer three are just 3/4 or 1in self tappers.

Best part about it is, it's already broke, so you can't possibly mess it up.:waytogo:
Thanks!

maybe i will grab a pic tomorrow if i remember...but I was able to drill out the factory pin locations and put in a #12 x 1/2" screw in each location, and then i put in about 6 more of the same elsewhere to further reinforce it. AND i gooped the crap out of the bottom and back side with some left over 2 part seam sealer i had. I hope it doesn't come apart, not pretty from the back side but no one ever sees that :)

once it is back on the door i will probably still put a screw in the front and the back side of the armrest and/ or a screw straight down through the unused hole in the steel (possible for a GMC or just an older model 88-89?)

No. Just annoyed that i can't find the oem style door clips, there are some that are close out there so they must work... Will find out today.

For the entire panel. Got something close at an auto body supply shop. 7.79 for a box of 25. Its all back together and man it shuts nice with the new door pins and secured armrest
