Bought it in January 2016 as a budget truck. Since then I've rebuilded the rear end, replaced the radiator, put in new batteries. Toady I'm pretty sure that it needs a head gasket replaced because I'm loosing coolant. Basically it's a money pit hah but I love it and intend to restore it. My plans for it are swapping the rear axle for a 14 bolt, a 4l80e instead of 4l60. Last major thing is to swap the engine for a lsx.

Welcome to the forum!
Good plans! Exactly what I plan for my 97 Suburban, expect the LSX part.

Looks like a damn good starting point!

Thank you! My biggest concern at this moment is the frame it's rotted under the engine and rear axle. I'm gonna start with the axle because it's getting noisy again. Oh and my fiance nicknamed it Submaster. Don't now why but I like it. :)

Looks like a good starting point. Although, frame rot under the engine doesn't sound great. If its to bad, I'd avoid spending to much money on this vehicle.

Thank you. Is there anything that could be done to fix the rotting problem or its usually not worth it?

I'm not going to pretend to know what effort or skills it takes, but grafting in a replacement section of the frame can be done.
