Checking the local parts stores and all I find are the cases for the door lock/unlock fob. Is there anywhere to get a complete replacement fob?

Based on your previous posts, I'm guessing you have a '98 silverado. If so, here are some options you have for replacing your current key fob.

Aftermarket (basically everything on eBay):
