Hello everyone, i am new to the forum. Ive been lurking around for the past several weeks. I have a 89 fleet side single cab c1500 with the 4.3 and nvg3500 hundred transmission. I grew up with this truck and it has a ton of sentimental value to me. I want to fully restore it, Frame off..everything. I want to keep it stock as possible, however, i want to install a new gen 5.3 or 4.3 ( I can't decide, maybe you guys can help me decide, which is a easier swap?). and i will install a new nv3500 tranny as well. What all do i need to make this retrofit/restore happen? What parts will i need? How do i make the gauge cluster, all the electronics communicate with the new ecm?
