I have a very bad oil leak in my freshly built engine in my 94 Blazer. It seems to be coming from the rear main seal, but we've replaced it 3 times. Even replaced the housing once. Could it be possible that the engine builder put an earlier crank in it, or machined it smaller? The shop doesn't open until Monday, so I can't ask them. I've turned it over with the transmission out and see it coming out of the seal, just can't figure out why it's still leaking.

Not yet. I'm not giving up on it though. Put too much time and money into it.

You may be onto something with the size of the crank. I would check it with a caliper. Also they make a sleeve, bushing that fits over the crank if it is scard. Check out this video

I guess I forgot to add that I put the sleeve on. It leaks like a siv. So that leads me to believe it's coming from the pan, not the rear main.

I have found that with the 1 pc rear main, Do Not put any kind of oil or anything on the journal, or the seal itself. The sealing surface has to be clean and dry where it rides on the crank journal. Have had 2 instances where we had to fix someone elses problem, and this was the issue both times.
Just my advise.

Well, my dad figured it out.. I think. When I replaced the engine in it I used the best parts of each engine. Apparently there were differences between the two oil pans, and I picked the wrong one to use. My dad said he tried to put RTV on the pan gasket to see if it'd seal better, but when he was trying to get it back on the pan hit the front rod caps. So he looked at the other pan and it has a groove in it for the caps to ride in. He is going to put it back together with the other pan on Monday. I'll update how it goes.

Fixed this a long time ago, but never got around to posting the fix. It was the three oil gallery plugs above the cam. Put them in and it ran no problem.
