Finally got the frame sandblasted and painted! It looks better than I thought it would for sure!

Next step I plan on doing Saturday is getting the frame completely 100% stripped down, remove the rear end and springs, along with the front spindles, springs, control arms, and steering components. From there it will all be reassembly!

Ok, so I decided to make an attempt at painting the rims myself. The first one, I spent a good 45 minutes using tape to mask just on the edge of the yellow stripe on the rim, on both sides. It was kind of a pain since the rim is curved, the tape didn't want to stick well. After getting that all done, I painted a stripe, then cleared over it. After drying, I peeled up the tape, and only about half of the paint stuck to the other stripe, and it also bled through the tape in some spots. :banghead: No biggie, it will come off with a little acetone. I took my chances and with my steady-ish hand, I used a little brush and went around two of the other rims by hand. I must say, it turned out better than I expected! You can see little flaws if you are a few inches away, but any more than 2 feet away, they look great! The stripes that came on them weren't perfect anyways, so that made me feel better. Two more and ill mount the tires up!

If you still have the other 2 to do... 3M makes a blue fine line/pinstripers tape that is thin enough that you can go around the rim..and it sticks real well and comes off with no residue. Stuff works great

More poor quality pictures! Got the frame down to where nothing else can come off, fought with the rear springs more than I had hoped, but got it done.

It was slow at work today, so I had time to work on my control arms. I got all of the old ball joints out, along with the rubber bushings. Also trimmed the lower arms so they won't rub with the drop Next step is the leaf spring bushings. Once done, i'm taking everything, plus the rear axle to my friend's place and sandblasting and painting everything, then reassembly can start!

Got the C notch half done, just need to drill some more holes and done! Also was able to cut out the only spot on the entire frame that was rusty at the same time, where the old bump stops were.

Finally reinstalled something! Got the motor mounts on, and also got one C notch all bolted up. Had to take a pic of the sky yesterday evening, super sunny on one side, super dark on the other!
