It has the large hubs that go through the center of the wheel, and bolt the axle in. It's the type you can't take the drums off, without unbolting the axle. I hope that helps to get the correct answer. It's 8600gvrw. I just don't know alot about 3/4 tons, being that this is only the second one I've ever owned.

Then yes it is a 10.5" full floater. Again that info was not shared previously and I only saw the photo above.

That has already been established but sixspeedss doesn't want to believe it

My facts are straight and accurate. If you have a 9.5 ring gear in your 2500, it must have been changed out or not a real 8600gvwr and does not mean that is what everyone else has.

I've swapped several of these rears, 10 bolts, 8.5 and 8.6 ring gear the 9.5 and 10.5 14 bolts.

Now can we stop cluttering up the OPs thread with your crap.

Listen you can get off your high horse buddy. I am not trying to sound like a know it all (like you are - or at least your ****** delivery).

I have worked on plenty of these trucks as well and almost every 8 lug, K2500 series truck I have seen has semi floaters, which indicate a 9.5" diff. My truck is an 8600 gvw truck and has a 9.5" diff and appears original. I seriously doubt someone went thru the trouble to swap it out just so you can prove me right that the OP has a 10.5" full floater. Again I have worked on these trucks since new and most 'K2500' trucks I have ever seen have semi floaters. All 3500 series trucks I have seen have full floaters.

So being that it is a full floating rear end, that's an indication that it can hold more weight than a semi-floating rear end, correct? It's really sad, because I've been a technician, and in the automotive industry for 13 years, and I know nothing about these rear ends. And what about the front diffs in these trucks? Same as the half tons? I know old school solid axle trucks had heavier duty fronts typically

The front diff is a bit beefier, iirc a half ton is 8.25" and a 3/4 and 1 ton is 9.25"

The full floater is much stronger and can hold more weight compared to the semi floater. And as mentioned by whitetrash88, you should have the 9.25 front diff.

Finally picked up my wheels today. Going to clean them up tomorrow, so I can swap tires, and mount them up on Wednesday.

Well, the new wheels are a bust, unfortunately. The guy I got them from, took them off of his ford. When I put them on the balancer, and it wanted 31.5 ounces on one side, I took the wheel off, and realized he had taken a grinder to the hub holes, to make them fit his ford. When I put them on, they don't even make contact at any point with my hubs, so the entire weight of the truck is on the lug studs. So they are coming back off, and the steelies will have to go back on. On a lighter note, they do look good on the truck, though. But they come off tomorrow.
