96 centurion 2500 turbo diesel 4x4 standerd bed

well my sig is back but the sight must be having issues because almost everyone's posts are missing...

looks like the sights fixed....my truck, not so much....
-30 wind chill and a cold snap we are having is kicking my trucks ass. got a tire that keeps going flat everyday, alternator crapped out on me , valve covers are leaking oil, and got a bad leak, think its fuel, and man my tranny shifts like **** when its this cold out....all the last week. gotta love it.

i smelled fuel the last week, checked a few days ago and saw nothing, when airing tire up at -1 deg out it was pouring on the ground, hope its not my new pump or there will be hell to pay! hoping its just a loose hose clamp on ffm from the cold....

tach died and volt fell then caught and both worked. did it a bunch of times, last night i started it and no charge.....so might be alt (6 month old napa) or just the belt....i went through like 4 belts and 2 tensioners till i gave up.....kept stretching and seemed to ratchet every time the ac engauged until it was maxed on the tensioner.... might get new belt and reclock the tensioner, its not right where it is, think the aftermarket put the alignment tab in the wrong place.....

valve covers piss me off, i did no gasket and just sealant....i never do that but trusted what i read....not a fan, going back to gaskets.

got a spare tire with a plug that i mounted on a tiny rim i got as a spare, going to swap that tire onto my rim.

i dont even want to get into the tranny....$2000+ for a rebuild will put me into the sell the truck category. want to change fluid but scared it will kill tranny....i just gotta get to texas with this thing....all i care about.

Sorry to hear about the issues. Weather doesn't help. I'm in central ny and experiencing those similar temps. My truck has been showing some issues, weak batteries and intermittent coolant leak that I have to find.

I may be able to sell you a rebuilt tranny. If your interested, send me a PM and we can work out a deal.

thanks man, this weather sucks!!!! its a high of 69 degrees where im trying to move today! thats early summer temps here. haha.

i might be hitting you up for a tranny in a bit. gotta wait for weather to break and fiddle around with my tranny and see whats up....

just went to look at truck, would not start. its -1 right now at 12;45 in the afternoon in vernon ct.....freezing i popped the hood and found my batt cable loose on my pass batt! tightened and have on charger and block heater now....so that may have fixed my charging issue for now. still gotta address belt. sucks being lifted so high i cant fit in my garage...

got it running....phew she was coldddd. charging issue was just loose batt terminal on pass side....sucks cause its new batts and terminal bolts....and i tighten stuff a touch to heavy, these have come loose last year a few times....humm.

fuel pouring out....looked like flywheel cover, but looked today and dripping down starter, so injector (better not be, new medallion marines a few months ago), line, or return hose(no clamp, push on style from...i forgot the company, ill have to look back)....under turbo and heat shield....yay! haha

Oh the woes of cold weather. It's terribly cold recently and it's been hard on everything.

looked for fuel leak twice now and found nothing! and did not leak....just started today and saw fuel running onto the ground.....damn, gotta fix this leak. strange it pours out then goes to nothing at all for a week.

in other news....got a agent and put my house for sale for the last time! short sale so im out no matter what! already started packing the clutter.

i went to do taxes and see how much moving money i would have to get to Texas.....
i owe $300!!!
i paid $2000 in Connecticut income tax! that's a dollar an hour they take right off the top of my paycheck before i even see it!!! just to live here, not counting my car taxes that are about to be due, i pay the state $150 a year of tax on my truck....just for owning it....a 18 year old truck that is paid off ! and when i got it and registered it i had to pay taxes on the book value of it also! oh and dont forget our 44 cents a gallon tax on every single gallon of gas! i HATE the state of Connecticut and its ****** laws and taxes!!!
i can not wait to move to a red state, these liberals are insane. cant even eat breakfast at a dennys without hearing tons of people defend the black panther party, how they want to take in and hug all the refugees, and ban us evil white folk from owning guns!!!! cant take this place anymore.....
cant wait to be a refugee from the failed state of Connecticut!!! everyone with a brain is fleeing the state....

Sounds like a miserable state to live in; North Carolina is bad about taxes, but thank god they're not that bad.

All the taxes is why my wife and I don't live in Rhode Island where she grew up.

yup. tax you to death.....oh and they keep banning our guns....
if you have a ar-15 you are a felon now.
if you have any magazine that holds more than 10 bullets you are a felon.
if you registered them in the 90 window they had you can have them but not take them anywhere or carry or shoot them unless at a certified range....if you stop for gas and get caught....you are a felon, even if registered and permitted!!!
