Hey guys,

Looking to convert my truck from power locks (RPO AU3) to remote entry power locks (RPO AU0). Now, I have a ton of other features and I appear to have the harness already. So I'll just need the transmitter and the receiver, right?

Simply buy a remote, they can be gotten very cheap on eBay, just got a new one myself for $13 and it works great! So much better distance than the old one.

Anyway I'll link up the programming instructions for you if that's what you're in need of. Super simple. All you need is a paper clip.

My truck doesnt have keyless entry at all. It has power locks. Im trying to make it so the truck has keyless entry. I was led to believe i will need a receiver and transmitter to make that work.

Am i right in thinking that my truck already has the receiver, i just have to program the locks to a key fob?

I'm thinking for the price of full remotes you could try it out and see, I'll look into it further myself too

If I recall correctly, someone here has done this and it's a major pain in the ass. Don't remember who, maybe Richard? (Someotherguy)

I believe there is a module u der the dash, right by the steering column that controls the power locks. I think you need to have a module with the receiver built in, or perhaps there is a plug in receiver.

I bought a fob off the internet for about $30 bucks, came with programming instructions, and worked just fine. I did this because my truck had only one fob, and I just wanted a second one for peace of mind.

Well worth doing, but be aware that the remote fobs, unless you do a simple mod, do not have much range. You practically have to be right beside the truck to be sure the locks will actuate when you push the button.

I bought my FOB off an Amazon seller. It came with programming instructions. Super easy to do. Get the module for keyless entry from the wrecking yard. If they have the fob too, well that's a bonus.

Yupe so i will need to get the receiver. It replaces my current door lock module and only costs 44$, but is discontinued. Need to find a warehouse in the states that saved one, or hunt the junkyards with 6 feet of snow and ****** temperatures.
