Hows the carbed 350 pull in this truck? I'm about to put a similar motor (specs wise) in my 94..

this truck is running on oversized tires and is probably worked harder than i'll work mine, just curious how the old school setup handles it.
It's a pretty decent built cammed 355 roller rockers long tubes 750 double pumper camel hump heads aftermarket pistons. Etc. It's plenty of power for now.

I figured so, but was just wondering. I've had people tell me that I'm crazy for wanting to put an old school motor like that in my crew cab. LS swaps and cummins conversions just require a boat load of money and conversion parts, most the time a donor truck lol

I think I'm going to go with a crate motor in it.

Yah I'd much rather have a cummins or an LS, and if this was my only project I probably would haha. But the small block works for now.

I already have the aftermarket controller for the 4L80E, so it can run with whatever bolts to it. i think most LS swaps use the stock PCM and the harness from that truck? Could be wrong.. i'm not sure.

Here is my problem with Cummins:
1. Used Motor itself is expensive as ****
2. I know nothing about them.
3. Tons of money in adapter plates.
4. Body lift required for clearance (yuck)
5. Injectors, Injector Pumps, and other performance parts are expensive as crap.
6. I'd have to pull the 4L80E out and beef it up.

Ultimately its just a little more than i want to put into the truck money wise, and i don't need that much pulling power.

While i have the money to spend, i'd rather keep the costs down under the hood. Hell my 454 had plenty of power and its stock numbers were 290HP and 400 ft torque.
