Is there a way to disable the drl on these? Certain situations it's nice to be able to have no lights on at all, or making sure you have your tail lights on and not just your headlights. Currently I just put my parking brake down a click.

Simple enough, just pull the fuse for it. It's been a while since I looked but I believe it's #16 in your side fuse panel on the dash. Look at the #'s carefully as it's easy to mistake what row you're looking at. Double-check the # with your manual.

If you pull the fuse, the dash indicator still acts like the DRL's are on. Supposedly, if you pull the module mounted on the steering column, no DRL's and no dash indicator. I can't ever remember to do it so I can't vouch 100%.

I drive a '98 that came factory with the day time runners. Pulling the fuse as indicated above does not produce any warnings on the cluster

There is a green indicator on my cluster, which lights up when the DRL's are on. I drive a 1996 Suburban.

I pulled the module up under the drivers dash. The green headlight indicator only comes on when I turn on my headlights.

This^ It's a space age looking rectangle about the size of a small block of wood. Real sharp edges. Pry the pins back with some needle nose and it slides out and unclips. It'll be like it was never even installed.

For a while I had them disabled on my '96 C3500 wrecker, when I first went out on my own in the towing biz. Then later I changed my approach with it. I re-enabled the DRL's and when I would get near where I was going to snatch a car, I'd turn the headlights off. The DRL's would be on, nothing else, and kinda dim...so it would just look like some junky old pickup truck. No cab markers, no fender markers. No light bar on the truck as I didn't work wrecks, and the unit was mounted under the bed so you didn't see it until I'm getting ready to load up.

Then before you know it, I'm gone with your ride.

DRL on dash remains on as normal until headlight is turned on manually.
