Is it possible to get a decent ride with a level?

In my experience, not really. I've got my Suburban cranked almost level but it still has a very slight rake. It rides pretty badly. Next time it's in getting the tires rotated I'm going to have them decrank it to factory height and align it.

EDIT - Just realized you never specifically said anything about raising the front, just leveling the truck. You could always throw a 2" drop shackle on the leaf springs in the back and level it out that way.

Its always different for every truck it seems like. I have a leveling kit on mine and have the keys up about 2" higher in the front than the back. Extended shocks and it's all good. Granted, that high isn't particularly riding a cloud but it's manageable. Level shouldn't be a problem. Just take an hour or so and crank it to level and see how it rides. Might think about extended shocks, your call. You will need an alignment after desired height.

I might have to give it a try. This is primarily my hunting and fishing rig, but I want it to ride decent being I drive some pretty rough roads. I'm planning on new shocks anyways.

Go for it:33: My dad's '92 is the same purpose vehicle and I leveled his out and it didn't make a noticeable difference. It won't take all of 30 minutes to play around with it.
