Yes. "Long Tube" or full length headers are far superior in helping produce torque than shorter headers. The primary tubes are longer. This is where the majority of the advantage comea from. The collectors are selectable, and/or customizeable both in diameter and length, so you can "tune" them to your powerband or operating range. All around they make better power everywhere. Just the compromise of ease of installation and possibly starter access.

Through style mufflers make better power when you're using the right sized system. Dual 2.50" pipes are good up to around 425 to 450 horsepower. Look at the dynomax mufflers mentioned above, or magnaflows, or hooker aerochambers, or pyoes race pros, something you can see all the way through.

If you're going to run a crossover, it's a truck, run an H.

Forgot to ask is better to run a single muffler with dual in/dual out or to run 2 separate mufflers

If I were starting an exhaust from scratch (as you are), I'd go with 2 mufflers and an h or x pipe. I don't know that it makes a huge difference. The price will not be much more. I think the main reason to go with a single di/do muffler would be space limitations. There is plenty of space under these trucks for 2 mufflers.

Just remember that if you want LOUD, two mufflers muffle more sound than one.

If you go with 2 mufflers, you'll never wish you did a single. If you go with a single, you'll eventually wish you did 2.
