Rodger that. It's more than likely an inaccurate gauge.
I did delete my oil cooler lines before my engine spun a rod bearing. I saw no rise it engine temps.

With my new engine, I went back to the oil cooler lines, but I made my own with barbed fittings/fuel injection clamps/fuel line.
I keep a close eye on the whole contraption though.

What size barb fittings did you use? I have been researching and the best "guess" I can come up with is 3/8 NPT? I'm going to go with the non-cooler adapter for now, but in the future I would like to incorporate another cooler outside the radiator and make my own lines from hydraulic hose.

You've got it.
3/8 NPT
I actually had the correct fittings in my stash of air hose fittings.

If i remove the rad cap to check the coolant level inside, do I need to burp the whole system?

Well I checked under the rad and I had room to add some, cranked heat on full and turned truck on, it burped a bit so I added a bit more, and than I let it idle for 10 mins and topped off the reservoir to the hot line. I took it for a spin around the neighbourhood and checked reservoir and it was still full so. Will go look when its cooled off tonight and see if it dropped correctly to the cool line.
Sort of bugging out the rad cap didn't seem to fit as snug as when I tried to remove it earlier today so..it seems to have some ....shakiness? looseness? to it, but I put it back on correctly so.

I am quite sure now its just that oil cooler line which is leaking oil so I want to get that removed soon.

Took out the leaking cooler lines and adapter today and put the non-cooler adapter and Wix 51069 filter in its place. No more leaks! Except I'm a little concerned about the 1/4" of clearance between the filter and front drive shaft! [emoji15]

Did this clearance with the wix51069 ever give you any issues? I've read about 6 threads with this topic and I am trying to sift through for a final answer for a filter replacement with adapter for a 4x4. Thanks

It was tight but the 51069 filter fit with about 1/4" clearance of the front driveshaft. During my last oil change another filter was put in its place because Jiffy Lube didn't carry an equivalent filter. This one is much shorter than the 51069 but it's leaking. I'm not sure if it's because the high flow oil pump in my engine is creating too much pressure and it's leaking past the seal or if it just needs to be tightened down. My next oil change I'm going to go back to the 51069 filter and synthetic oil.

Id pull the filter and make sure they diddnt double gasket it before snugging it up.

Cooler line delete is on my to do list for my truck. Lines are starting to seep at the crimps. Although I will have extra clearance due to my lift. Should be able to use a PH5 filter with no issues in regards to front drive shaft clearance.

Ultimately I want to make custom AN oil cooler lines and use the one in the radiator again, but this works until then.
