You will have to remove the door to make it easier to work on, depending on if you are replacing the entire rocker like I did. See my post a few threads down.

pretty sure i have to pull the finders off too. at least loosen them if anything, but i was told that it possible to cut the rocker in half and do the easier part towards the back first... no door removal required

Do it right the first time, cutting it in half yes would allow you to leave the door on but then leave you extra work to weld and finish the middle of the rocker. Once you get into you'll find the rust is far worst than you expected. That's why I ended up repairing all at once.

I don't know why you'd want to do all that extra welding and cleaning up. You can just scoot the bed back a little bit.

Yeah, I lifted mine and put blocks in between the frame and the bed supports.

If you have an engine hoist, use a strap and hook the pockets in the bed rails. When I pulled my bed to do cab corners, all it took was an engine hoist on the tailgate end and two guys on the other and we had the bed completely off in no time. The bed doesn't have to come all the way off to do the corners, but it makes it much easier to work.

How could i scoot my bed back with a lift? the underneath of my bed is pretty rotted out.

I used my lift to raise it enough to slide the two long pieces of oak under my bed, then used the square tube steel to lift the wood and added blocks to hold it up between the frame and bed.
