I saved the picture of it. Good enough for me.

The units in my Mopars kinda suck, too. I mean, they're OK. They'll get you there without having to run down the battery in the phone or have to get off a call so you can use the phone for navigation. But using a little joystick/wheel to pick letters off a virtual keyboard so you can enter a street name, holy crap. At least they came out with touchscreen nav for the 2nd gens...maybe upgrade to that one eventually, but it takes some bezel surgery.

This is so cool. I wish there was a video of it in action. It kind of reminds me of the no-screen on-star navs that just had a small calculator style display that points at the next turn.

Can't find any pictures of it in operation but it was introduced in 1994 (for the 1995 model year, presumably, due to the form factor.)

What I did find, not quite as interesting but along the same lines anyway - the Delco Telepath 100 was also offered as a single-DIN type unit and this one appears to be a little newer. I'm basing that on the LCD display vs. the VFD of the other one. Note it still uses the card-based memory for the map data. From what I read on the 'net, the card only holds a small area which isn't a surprise. Not like you'd squeeze the whole USA on it.

It's a neat piece but would be totally worthless. I know the roads around here have changed way too much.

I really want a pioneer double din wtih apple car-play. Since they use your phone for nav it seems like a win-win in my book.

Same. The bezels are pretty thin, so it'd look stock. That VFD display looks cool though.

The only way I'd have it is if I was able to hack it and update the maps.

I've had museum pieces and they're no fun to me. I found they made me worry more than I enjoyed them.
