So guys I have 97 k1500 with the 305 in it and it has the manual floor shifter for the tcase so I was thinking it has the 4L60 and not the 4L60e?

Its the 4L60e. Easy way to tell is if you have overdrive or not.

Both have overdrive. 4L60 was in 92. 93 and up gmt400's used 4L60E or 4L80E.

Good thing you said something! So its not electronic overdrive? Transmissions get confusing.

OD is not electronic, everything has the same OD more or less, a 4l60 control shift by throttle valve, a 60e controls shifting and trans function by electronics
