Paul,

If you end up looking for any really random wiring / plugs / bolts / parts etc, let me know. My dad just finished restoring his 75 silverado. If you recall earlier this year my brother was t-boned in his 79 silverado 2wd stepside, we parted it out, along with another 77 K10 and an 84 K20. We have a bunch of random parts in bins now.

One thing of interest from the 79 is the white interior. Apparently was a rare option.

I also have the pieces to make another one of these I think.........

Will do Dave thanks!

I'd love that gauge setup but I'll probably go with a Dakota digital setup as I can run most of it off the obd2 data after the fuel injection swap an it will accept the input from the vss on the nv3500.

Did you guys just use led bulbs in that cluster? I painted the inside of mine an did all new regular bulbs but it didn't help a whole lot.

Well So far Ive ordered an received all the parts I should need, replaced the rear main seal, swapped in a +10% volume standard pressure pump to replace the high volume/pressure one I had, removed the gear drive (good riddance!) and replaced with a double roller, cleaned and repainted the long block. I had the chrome valve covers, air cleaner and a new oil pan powder coated GM blue and the intake done in rally wheel silver. These pictures don't show how good the silver looks. I cant wait to get all back together to see how the colors look.

And that's it, thanks to work/family schedule I haven't been able to do anything else. I want to have it back together for Run to the Sun in march but I don't know that will happen. I am going to try though....

The headers were looking pretty sorry against all these new finishes but new ones aren't in the budget. So I had them sandblasted an threw a couple of coats of vht flame proof silver on them. Hopefully it holds up for a few years until I get to the fuel injection swap an a nice new set....
